The Open Water course is the world’s most popular entry-level diving certification, and Tanzania’s warm, clear, easy reefs make it an ideal place to earn it. Over three to four days you’ll cover the theory, practise skills in confined water, and complete four open-water dives, emerging as a certified diver able to dive independently anywhere in the world.
Courses run with qualified instructors at reputable centres on Zanzibar, Pemba, and Mafia. It’s a genuine life skill and an unforgettable way to spend part of a beach holiday — many people catch the diving bug for life.

A brilliant use of beach-holiday time and a skill you keep for life — Tanzania's conditions make learning comfortable. Allow a genuine 3–4 days (it can't be rushed safely), and don't dive within ~18–24 hours of flying. Choose a reputable, safety-first centre over the cheapest option.
