Mid-Range Safari

Comfortable lodges and tented camps, private vehicle, and full days in the parks — the sweet spot of value and comfort that most of our guests choose.

Experience Guide

A mid-range safari is the option most of our guests pick, and for good reason: comfortable en-suite lodges or proper tented camps, a private 4×4 with a pop-up roof, and a knowledgeable guide — without the price tag of the ultra-luxury camps. You spend on the experience, not on gold taps.

The wildlife and the parks are identical to a luxury trip; the difference is in the thread count and the extras. For most people that trade is exactly right, freeing budget for an extra day in the Serengeti or a Zanzibar add-on.

How It Unfolds

Day 1
Transfer & first drive

Arrive, settle into your lodge, and ease in with an afternoon drive.

AM
Full-day game viewing

Long days in the parks with a packed lunch in the bush.

Evenings
Lodge comfort

Hot showers, hearty dinners, and a real bed each night.

Flexible
Add-ons

Cultural visits or a balloon ride slot in easily.

Is It Worth It?

This is our default recommendation. It delivers the entire Tanzania safari experience — same animals, same parks, same guiding — at roughly a third of luxury cost. Unless privacy and ultra-comfort are priorities, your money goes further here, especially put toward extra days.

Good to Know

  • Best balance of comfort and cost
  • Same parks and wildlife as luxury trips
  • Private vehicle keeps you flexible
  • Easy to extend with Zanzibar or culture

Before You Book

What accommodation should I expect?
+
Comfortable en-suite lodges and well-appointed tented camps — think proper beds, hot showers, and good food, without ultra-luxury frills.
Is it private or group?
+
Mid-range trips are usually private-vehicle, so you control the pace. Shared group-joining versions are available for solo travellers and couples on a budget.
Do I see less wildlife than on a luxury safari?
+
No — the parks and animals are the same. The difference is purely in accommodation and inclusions.
Can I mix lodge styles?
+
Yes — many guests blend a mid-range base with one special-occasion night at a higher-end camp. We'll suggest where it's worth it.
