Starting on the remote, forested western side — where you may spot wildlife on day one — it crosses the stunning Shira Plateau before joining the Machame trail high on the mountain, combining solitude in the early days with the best scenery throughout.
Crucially, its 8-day itinerary gives the strongest acclimatisation of the popular routes, translating into the highest summit success. If you want the best balance of beauty, quiet, and reaching the top, Lemosho is it.
